CONTEST! JustInMind Prototyper – Comment to Win!

It’s Contest Time at FYI
Okay ladies and gentlemen, you’re reading right. It’s contest time. And the entry is about as easy as it gets! The prize is two licenses for JustInMind Prototyper, a wireframing tool that can be used to quickly and easily map out your application-based interfaces. There will be TWO winners! JustInMind is full of features that you (being the interface-creating geniuses that you are!) can use to build rich and beautiful, perfectly functional interfaces.
So here’s what you do:
- Go download a copy to try out.
- Come back to this post and respond with a comment of how you would use JustInMind, and state your case: why do you need a license for JustInMind? Also, include some kind of reflection on your trial use.
- We will deliberate. The comments must be posted before 11:59 PM EST next Wednesday.
- WIN! (or lose… but hey, you can’t win everything…)
And THAT’S IT! Tell your colleagues, Twitter peeps and Facebook friends to come join in for a chance to win!
IMPORTANT:
Remember, keep the subject of the comments about yourself. Or if you’d like to positively vote towards another person, that’s welcomed as well. Nothing along the lines of “Billy Bob shouldn’t win because I think he is a horrible designer.” These kind of negative comments will be removed and will disclude you from the contest.

Thanks for the contest!
I’ll start with discrediting myself: I’m not a UI designer. I’m just a glasses-wearing geek for all things ‘interface’; I’ve tried Pencil and LovelyCharts, but I like JustInMind because it feels so familiar. It’s like going on a relaxing vacation with Adobe Flash, and he invited his practically-minded and slightly charming cousin JustInMind along (who had the foresight to bring a road map).
Working with Go Media has opened up a world of possibilities. As a company, we’d love the chance to have a two licenses of JustInMind because we’d like to see where this kind of planning could take us, for both our client projects and internal musings.
Woot! will definitely try it out :)
Well I must be honest I am a an interface, mindmapping wireframing kinda gal. The application really is intuitive, visually “there” for me and very quick to use, right out of the proverbial box so to speak. There is something wonderful about how I would use it to develop wireframe of interfaces and application screens — very quick.
I like the functional scenarios, visual graphics and requirements — keeping all things in ind in the process. I definitely would use it, per chance I win — to take my UX design to a new and better level.
I would love to use something like this for prototyping mobile and web apps. I’ve been walking people through wireframes in person, using static prototypes, Flash or paper prototypes, and it works fairly well depending on the project and client. But some days I wish I could go back to prototyping in Hypercard. That was simple and, frankly, much more fun than a lot of prototyping software I’ve used lately, which is why I either customize my own in Flash or rely on the client’s ability to visualize it themselves. Sometimes I’ll use a flowchart app like Lovely Charts or SnapFlow, but only for static illustration purposes. I haven’t gone too deep into those apps.
I’m going to play around with JustInMind a bit more, and see if it’s right for me. I don’t even know if I qualify in this contest since I’ve written for FYI, but if it looks like this software will help me crank out prototypes faster and more effectively, I’ll try to save up some cash to get my own license someday.
Woot! i like this! i was feeling like changing my blog’s theme.
Wow. Just loving the comments we got until now. :D
i’m the interface and ux designer at eBuddy and love programs like prototyper. i would love to put in in the standard workflow at our company once i can proof it will safe us time ($.) It can be a very powerful and cost efficient method during the wireframe- and design-stages i think, im sure anyone would agree there.
The initial learning curve is currently a little higher then what it could and should be I think but it has big potential. It would be excellent if the user (me) could simply import a design (png or jpg) after which it would automatically trace the page to put most of the interactive elements in place. The final touches could then be done through an inspection flow or so. (think OCR software for a sec; step 1 import and define parts to ignore/include, step 2 trace and inspect (and adjust), Step 3 see it working or add more pages.
i would love to see the app grow and use it in my daily work. Keep up the great work!
Hi,
I’m a product owner, we use with my team a wideframe to develop and discuss about the new interface. I used a lot software to create the wideframe. I recently discover JustinMind, I very good product, with a lot of good idea.
JustinMind is very pleasant to use, simple of approach and at once powerful when we want to realize wideframe very dynamic.
JustinMind server is also a very intelligent element, for a long time, I looked for a solution who would allow to have the return of the user about the new interface. Only for this function, I quite the other software;)
Each person can test the new interface and write a note about the IHM.
“The cherry on the cake” it works on PC and Mac !!! Finally a solution which works on both sytem.
I could continue for a long time to enumerate all the functions which brings JustinMind, but I am going to continue to make him on my french blog.
JustInMind Prototyper is a very beautiful surprise !
Wow, after using this product I’ve come to the conclusion that this is a must have. The way that it enhances Wireframe generation with their intuitive workflow is clever and makes wire framing a snap.
JustInMind Prototyper allows for easy Wireframing generation that standardizes the process so that the process for multiple wireframe approval and commenting is easier for myself as well as the client.
The JustInMind server piece is just fantastic. I’ve been looking for a centralized way for managing the wireframe approval process and this piece of software does exactly what I’m looking for.
All in all, this is a great software package that will benefit anyone who wins. Good luck to all, but please choose me :)
I start College in January and this is great software! If i could afford it i would totally use this for my freelance business i’m going to try and start while i’m in college. I already got my domain name and web host.. all i need is the funds, software and education :-D
Thanks for all of the comments guys! The contest is officially over. We will post results through Twitter and on this post, as well as an email to the winning contestants. Thanks for participating! Be sure to check back on Fuel for more contests in the future!
