Well I think that the best way for all SO users is to having a very clean and mindblowing Wallpaper, something useful works too like a calendar or something inspiring like a motivational wallpaper. Mac looks great with that taskbar color but windows can look like that? I think yes but its hard to find without installing 3rd party software.

Linux users have Conky. The examples on their site aren't that good, but if you look around on the Ubuntu forums you can find some scripts that produce really beautiful setups.

Same here! I’m on Vista. I did a search and found something called Samurize that looks pretty neat. I’m downloading it right now.
